Sportswire 2014 - Episode 1

Sports Journalism Students at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario have produced their first edition of Sportswire 2014.
Segments include The Panel, TV Time-outs, the Blue Jays Winter Tour and Kingston's Finnish returning from the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Valentines Hoops Hopes on the Talktagon

The Loyalist Lancers men's basketball team is on the road for two key games to finish the regular season.  Forward Jayvon Lake joins host Matt Paglia and panelists Trevor Snell and Liam McGuire to talk about their push for the playoffs.
The panel also talks about Canada's performance in Sochi and the NBA all-star weekend.

The 2014 Winter Olympics are underway and the Talktagon tackles the controversial choice of Sochi, Russia as host city.  Host Colton Wiens is joined by Austin McKay and Danny Wright as they also discuss Martin St. Louis being selected to Team Canada, Canada’s anti-gay luge commercial, the NBA slam dunk contest and David Beckham’s attempt to bring the “people’s football club” to Miami.

Where are they now?

Time for an update on where to find recent graduates of Loyalist’s post-grad Sports Journalism program:

Evan Cooke (class of 2013) fled the coop for the Wild West upon graduation in 2013. He’s the afternoon news anchor at two sister stations in Fort MacMurray, Alberta.
