First stop: The Score. While there, the SPJNs caught up Scott Winters. He’s the HD studio supervisor at The Score. Scott’s a 1999 graduate of Loyalist’s TV program. Greg Sansone, vice-president of production and programming at The Score, also made time for a chat.
Then it was on to the CTV-TSN television studios in Scarborough. Students got a glimpse of anchor Dan Matheson while he was doing a news update. SPJN coordinator Mary Jollimore worked with Matheson in the mid-1980s at CTV’s morning show, Canada-AM.
At TSN, the students met with Vic Rauter, the network’s voice of curling and soccer. James Duthie, a Gemini Award winning sportscaster and anchor of TSN’s NHL Tonight, also spent some time with the students as did Jamie Adams, a 1996 Loyalist TV program graduate, who works at ESPN Classic Canada.
