Playoff Game Broadcast
Loyalist Sports Journalism students will be broadcasting live from the gym at the college on Saturday as the Loyalist women's basketball team takes on Niagara in a win and you're in match. The winner of the game will advance to the Ontario Colleges Atheltic Association (OCAA) playoffs.
The Niagara Knights lead the west division of the OCAA. Both teams enter the game on a high note. In their last regular season game, The Lancers defeated Durham Lords 55 to 51. The Knights beat the Sheridan Bruins 60 to 50 and have won six of their past seven games.
The basketball broadcast will start at 1:50 p.m., Saturday, February 28th on 91X-FM

Loyalist College is hosting two spring Open House sessions on: Saturday, March 14, and
Saturday, April 25.
If you visit, you can enter a draw that’ll take
place at the end of each event for a chance to win a
$1,000 bursary towards your Loyalist College tuition.
Faculty will be available to talk about the Sports Journalism program. You can tour the campus, visit the sports
dome, on-campus residences, and check out the Digital
Media Centre and our radio and TV facilities.

Sports Journalism students Kyle Venema and Josh Burton hosted the all-sports edition of QNet News on Wednesday, February 4th.
The TV program featured stories on the playoff prospects for Loyalist basketball teams; a profile of athlete Leticia Lopez; and a story on a horse called Archie whose brother won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2002.
